The University of Pennsylvania Health System (UPHS), a world-leading patient care, education and research institution seeks a dynamic and versatile organizational development professional to lead the planning and development of a Center for Workplace Learning & Innovation. Through the Center for Workplace Learning & Innovation, UPHS continues its investment in its most valuable resource---its people. The Center for Workplace Learning & Innovation will serve as a vehicle to support UPHS as an employer of choice and as an extraordinary place for patients and their families to receive high quality, compassionate care.

Reporting to the Vice President, Organization Development, the Director of the Center for Workplace Learning & Innovation will provide performance consultation services to support major strategic initiatives across the organization and work collaboratively with executive sponsors in the planning & implementation of the learning enterprise. Key areas of responsibility include aligning and integrating learning & performance consulting services to drive key organizational goals (e.g. Blueprint for Quality) and implementing the strategic use of technology for knowledge generation and dissemination across the health care system. The Director will be expected to develop collaborative partnerships with community-based organizations to support economic development of the region, with a specific focus on West Philadelphia, through the expansion of pipeline development programs that prepare community residents for careers in health care.

The successful candidate will possess a progressive 10+ year track record driving organizational change initiatives through performance consultation and transfer of learning across a system. Must have considerable exposure in the clinical arena with a keen understanding of the challenges in building a world-class workforce in health care. An advanced degree in OD, organizational dynamics, nursing or other clinical practice area required.

Demonstrated strength in developing learning solutions to organizational challenges that extend beyond the traditional boundaries of education and training.
